FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BORDERS GOES BASEBALL ON JUNE 23 WITH

THE KNUCKLEBALL FROM HELL

On Saturday, June 23 at 2pm, Borders Books at 395 Broadway in Saratoga Springs will be hosting a book event like no other. On that day, Michael Wayne, the author of the new novel, The Knuckleball From Hell, will be on hand to host an afternoon of fun and games.  Along with a book signing, there will be music, pitching, batting, fielding practice, trivia contests, and prizes galore.  It is recommended that all customers that day bring their cleats and baseball gloves.

Although rumor has it that Borders will clear out all books for the event and turn the entire store into a baseball diamond, Bill Tike, a Borders vice-president, would neither confirm nor deny such a thing will happen.  Further rumors have stated that a famous baseball player will be on hand for the event, and speculation has led some to believe it will be either Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, or David Wright, but again, Borders vice-president Tike would neither confirm nor deny these reports. In a response to a query, Tike would only say, ÒIt is not Borders policy to divulge specific activities planned for a book event at our store.Ó

The Knuckleball From Hell has garnered much praise, with one reviewer calling it ÒThe funniest book of the year,Ó and another reviewer stating, ÒIf Tom Robbins and Kurt Vonnegut combined to write a baseball novel, this would be it.Ó

Michael WayneÕs novel is about life, love, the New York Mets, and everything in between, and features a cast of extremely offbeat characters, including two New York City bus drivers-turned-Mets general managers, a Rastafarian quantum physicist, Hare Krishnas, two Department of Homeland Security special agents, the superhero Donutman, surfer dudes, a Russian Cossack first baseman, and much, much more.

Dr. Michael Wayne, a respected acupuncturist with offices in Saratoga Springs and Latham, is the author of Quantum-Integral Medicine: Towards a New Science of Healing and Human that examines the problems of modern medicine, the importance of thinking outside the box and much more. Instead of a follow-up scientific book he took his own advice and wrote the out of the box book, The Knuckleball From Hell.
